How the emotional intelligence can improve your health

When people hear about emotional intelligence are thinking that is regarding some smarts behaviors or smart people, the thing is that emotional intelligence has become the most powerful strategy to learn how to live a healthy life and it is just in our hands.


Emotional intelligence is being conscious of ourselves, it is regarding how people can manage their emotions developing a deep sense of knowledge about ourselves. Being emotionally intelligent is having our emotions under control even when everything around us is decontrolled. It is, put all of our attention in the today avoiding seeing the past and focusing on the future trying to find the plan to do what is supposed we have to do today.


We are living in a very complex world, where we have to accomplish many goals in a limited period of time. Living life it has become a race against the clock where we do not have time to think what we are doing and the most important thing, why we are doing it. Being in an automatic mode has become the standard rule for everybody; it is very common that doing something at the moment we cannot remember it later, because our attention is divided in thousands of thoughts that require being solved soon.


Sadly, we have a very tight agenda that impede to think in the day purposes much less in the tomorrow’s expectations. Many times in this endless race to achieve something that never comes, our health suffers severe damage because our mind is not focused on what really matters.


When we are in an automatic mode we do not have the possibility to see what are the possible advantages of the challenging situations, even worse we have not the possibility to see anything because our attention is divided in many things that have to be solved.


Emotional intelligence helps to be focused and to reduce the automatic mode improving people health at the end because all chemical substances that our bodies are releasing in stressful situations will be controlled and reduced avoiding their harmful effects for health.


Emotional intelligence is based on the ability to develop emotional awareness, it means to be conscious of what are our emotions recognizing what are those that have a negative impact on our health and in our interpersonal relationships but above all, it means how can avoid it, how can we prevent that our emotions control at the end, being intelligent to discern what is the most convenient that we have and how can control it.


Emotional intelligence is the ability to develop social awareness that means to be conscious about others, trying to understand them or being empathetic with them, this aspect of emotional intelligence represents an invaluable resource to improve interpersonal relationships.


Being emotional intelligent consist in to be flexible, that means the capacity of adapting to everything, even to difficult and challenging situations. Flexibility is also known as the quality of being resilient, that means to have the capacity to overcome adverse circumstances without losing your perspective and goal.


As part of life it is possible to see and even go through really difficult situations, since difficulties are included in what we have to live daily to gain experience and accomplish our personal goals but, the only reason that an emotionally intelligent person is able to be successful even after a difficulty is her/his ability to adapt to each one of them and take the best of the experience growing up at the way.


A person emotionally intelligent is who has self-management, self-control is responsible for his/her reactions, his/her decisions and has developed the ability to put his/her emotions under control no matter what situation is happening. The ability to have the control of ourselves give us self-confidence increasing our self-esteem because at the extent we feel more secure about ourselves we believe that whatever we do will be successful because we will do our best.


In this cycle of good, where we feel really well about ourselves and have the opportunity to measure it with optimums results our health is improved because many hormones and chemical substances are released in our bodies as consequence of what is happening in our minds and even in our souls.


In a few words, emotional intelligence contributes to improving our health because helps to feel better from inside, when we feel better and effective from inside we can have good results outside in whatever we do as consequence of our motivation, dedication, and emotions under control, therefore, we will have a better health at the end.
