In overall, the human beings have been created to have talents, skills, aptitudes, and remarkable abilities to change adverse realities and influence positively the world, however, there is an important aspect of people’s life that has been underestimated and putted on a second place, this aspect is the human being’s mood, sometimes negative, sometimes positive, nobody can deny the enormous influence that mood has in the people’s life affecting their quality of life at the end.1

The main characteristics of individual mood depend on multiple factors such as: culture, socioeconomic condition, affective relationships, self-esteem, and so on. But what is the principle that underlies the mood, some researchers have established that the degree of well-being of every person can define his/her mood at the end, meanwhile another researchers have pointed out that the mood is a consequence of a personal decision.1,2

Having into account that in the real life there are things, situations or even conditions that are unavoidable or are not under people control, the well-being is a decision that people normally can take as life-decision, it means that even when the conditions are adverse the individual choose to be happy at the moment no matter what their eyes are watching for.1-3

Mood consists in how people feel regarding their reality; it is the degree of satisfaction that people have with their personal condition, health, socio-economic status, affective relationships, and self-acceptance. Even so, the mood has the possibility to influence positive or negatively the people’s health thus, represents an important indicator of the people wellness implying notable effects in the immune system, and results in behaviors as anxiety or depression that could be affecting the individual cardiovascular condition at the end.1,3

People who are characterized for not have well-being are predisposed to be affected by severe crisis of anxiety or depression which is related with overstimulation of nervous central system resulting in digestive disorders, high heart rate, high blood pressure, sleepless, and agitation, having as result increased risk of cardiovascular diseases as: heart failure, stroke and myocardial infarction.1

How one person feels daily is linked to his/her degree of wellness and this is defined in turn by a state of maximum balance between health, affective relationships, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. When people achieve a certain level of wellness then are able to reach their potential in whichever task they do or even are able to increase their abilities to be more productive, effective and happy. At the extent people are able to achieve their goals or at least are able to take control of their own lives then they are considerably happy regardless they have to get through difficult situations, they assume these adverse circumstances as challenges that for sure could end in beneficial outcomes.1-3,4

Some researchers at the neuroscience field have pointed out the importance of mood in the people’s health condition and overall its influence at the recovery process during disease because positive feelings will increase immune system activity which will improve its health condition at the end. Some studies have proven that people who have an optimum mood regardless their health condition at the moment are more likely to get better in a short period of time than people who have not.1,2

Other authors have investigated about resilience as the ability to be flexible and choose to be happy even though having to get through for difficult situations. According to them, people can choose to adapt to every situation knowing that are part of the life and could be for good in the future. This flexibility could be a key to face every challenge in life without affecting their health condition but above all knowing that it is possible to overcome any trouble with just believing it.1,4

All in all, mood could be considered an important psychological determinant of health that is necessary to take into account at the moment to treat any disease but above all, to prevent health conditions, many people at the moment are ignoring that their negative feelings could be leading them to be sick in the future and most of the times there is not explanation for some diseases outside us rather inside ourselves.1,2

Even though, adverse conditions of our daily life could affect our mood and our ability to be flexible for adapting us to every situation always we have the option to choose which behavior perform, while better our thoughts are then better our mood will be, and finally, our health condition will improve or the consequences of disease will disappear in a short period of time. Positive emotions will represent more productivity because increases creativity and availability to learn fast what undoubtedly will bring better outcomes, high self-esteem, and self-efficacy in a few words, more happiness.

We have the responsibility to build our own emotional climate, if this is negative then our outcomes could be affecting not just our health shortly, but also all our surroundings, on the other hand, if our emotional climate is positive then we have the possibility of have better outcomes and develop our maximum potential which could be influencing positively our lives and the other ones at the end.
