How to Improve your Quality of Life

The quality of life is a concern that has been occupying different places into the society, because increasingly people need to know how to achieve it but a very few can assume the individual responsibility that having the quality of life implies. Quality of life is a broad concept that involves an important balance between negative and positive aspects of life; in fact, it is conceived as the sum of a complete wellness and equilibrium in all areas of life including health.1,2
This means that health-related quality of life implies the complete balance of body and mind to result in a total wellness and adequate functioning of human body what would represent a better performance on all daily tasks and a successful society at the end. These concepts sound really good if we have to take a pill to obtain instant results, without any effort or sacrifice from our side, but, the truth is that many people are looking incessantly the magical key to obtain quality of life like the hen of golden eggs, and the reality is that the secret is inside us.1
The first step to obtaining quality of life is the willingness to do whatever we have to do for obtains it, even when this decision implies great sacrifices, and demands an extra mile from our own part. The human willingness is the availability to make these things happen; no matter if there are obstacles on the way, it is the only way to achieve the long-awaited quality of life. Some authors have recommended that it is very important to take time of quality at least once a week to do something that you enjoy, probably spend time watching a favorite movie, or having lunch with some friends. The reason is that people who are immersed in a complicated life of multiple demands and compromises develop the ability to ignore the alarm signs that his/her bodies are showing, having as result worse conditions than at first.1,3
Taking the decision to have quality of life starts from the profound insight to be better, this desire grows on the time when people recognize the need to have a balance between their body and mind, even when they have previous health conditions, and probably financial challenges they recognize the need to get better despite challenges, it is matter of self-esteem, self-efficacy, but above all, of hope.3
The human willingness is an engine that moves people to better results, the persons who are conscious of her/his need to care for themselves are likely to spend time doing activities to improve their health condition or at least strengthen their affective bonds.4
The experts recommend that people should do social activities with groups related for to improve their interpersonal skills as well as develop the ability to do something for someone else; in this way a satisfying sensation would cover the body of the person, but also the soul developing the self-esteem and self-efficacy to be better for them and for the society.3,4
Pursuing quality of life is a beneficial task but it requires an important amount of willingness and availability, at the same time it is important to assume that for to reach the quality of life one decision should be taken it means simple steps that everyone to be better at the end. No matter how busy is your day, how difficult is to solve this problem, or how stubborn your boss be, always take your time at least 25 or 30 minutes to be relaxed and recover your calm to think clearly.3,4
Many people use these little spaces between tasks to pray, taking time to say to Lord how frustrated they are, or simply asking help, while some tears are running for their cheeks the soul starts to be better, the consolation and peace start to come and the faith is strengthen, it is impressive how a few minutes of an honest pray can change a negative attitude to a better attitude improving the heart rate, blood pressure, and clarity of thoughts.
Taking your time to do recreative activities, enjoying the nature, playing with your pet, or someone else’s pet, could help to cope with stressful situations, everybody needs of at least 20 minutes of love, and it is not necessarily the couple’s love, quiet moments with your pet, or meditation in the bench of the park while the breeze is moving your hair probably will help to be focused on what you need to be focused, increasing your levels of endorphins improving your sleep rhythm and developing positive thoughts to do whatever you need to do, at the end.
Finally, doing physical activities regularly not only has the ability to improve your health but the development of your self-esteem, at the extent you achieve your goals as result of your efforts, faith, and willingness. It is indispensable that these physical activities will be over the base of what you enjoy and step by step become on healthy lifestyles that encourage others to do the same, reaching the long-awaited quality of life.4
